Ashton Bears trip to a very sunny and pleasant
Lake District
ended sadly when they were beaten by a very good and well drilled
Barrow outfit. There was no lack of effort from the Ashton lads who
went close twice, Dave Smith and Peter Shaw both held just short of the
line, before the home side took the lead. It was on twenty minutes when
Ashton scored their only points of the match, when a great cross field
kick from Stuart Millett eventually found its way to debutant, Scott
Pancholi who pounced on the ball to score. Barrow however were scoring
at regular intervals and never let the Ashton lads gain any momentum.
Man of the match, Keiron Spruce never failed to make ground in a
tireless stint, Andrew Ball and Steven Naylor also had good games.
Try;
Scott Pancholi
