Ashton
u17`s played New Springs and were the comfortable victors, winning 38-
6. Although the half time score was only 8- 0. The first try coming
from the impressive Ben Robinson chasing Andy Ball’s speculative
kick, the stand off hacking the ball three times before Robinson
managed to touch down. The next try came form Danny Oswald showing
great strength and determination to score out wide .
The
second half started with Nathan Davies slipping from a would be tackle
to get over the line. Robinson then got his second try after a Michael
Burns break and offload. Robinson scoring again to claim his hat trick.
Burns was involved again to set up Kieran Edwards, who showed good
skills stepping around the desperate cover. Ashton then had a
man sent to the sin bin and New Springs took full advantage and scored
immediately. But the last word went to Burns, crashing over from dummy
half. Stand in kicker Danny Carter kicking 5 from 7 conversion
attempts.
This score slightly flattered the Bears and they will know
they will have to cut out the mistakes for next weeks final against
West Bank
. Ashtons best performers were Robinson, Burns, Ball and Oswald.
